San Diego may have lost the Chargers, but San Diego State is doing its best job to satisfy the city’s football-watching void. The No. 25 Aztecs are 3-0 with wins over Arizona State and Stanford. Their fans had the Stanford game won before it even started.
A fan outside San Diego Stadium (formerly Qualcomm Stadium) captured the scene of the Stanford tailgate, which was taking place right next to a San Diego State tailgate. The contrast could not have been more extreme.

Stanford’s tailgate featured tables (with table cloth!) and the exact subdued, family friendly environment you’d expect from an elite academic institution like Stanford. It didn’t exactly defeat that perception.
To make it even better, the fan immediately turned to the San Diego State tailgate, which was a party. Like, there was visible smoke drifting in the background. I can’t stop laughing.
We deserved to lose. Beat by a better program https://t.co/Ih2SNkbowM
